We were delighted to kick off our Transport Week with a very special visit from Daniel, a bus driver from Sanders Coaches, who kindly brought his big yellow bus to our nursery for the children to explore.
There was great excitement as the bright yellow bus arrived, with the children eager to take a closer look at its enormous wheels and climb aboard.
To make the experience even more authentic, Daniel handed each child a bus ticket as they stepped onto the bus, just like on a real journey.
During the visit, the children discovered how a bus works, learning about the stop buttons and the important accessibility features, including the special stop button for passengers with disabilities.
Everyone found a seat, fastened their seatbelts, and enjoyed the rumble of the engine as the bus gently moved forwards before coming to a stop. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience what travelling by bus feels like in a safe and familiar environment.
The children were fascinated by how high they were sitting above the ground, especially as they explored towards the back of the bus. Many were keen to share their own experiences of travelling by bus with their families, leading to lots of lovely conversations.
To round off our visit, we gathered together for a group photograph before saying a big thank you to Daniel for giving us such a memorable experience.
