During the month of August, the nursery closed for its annual deep clean. But it also benefitted from a complete overhaul.
The coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on children, parents, and practitioners alike. Staying at home for a prolonged period and the changing of routines has caused a range of difficulties for our children, impacting both their behaviour, mood and well-being.
Eliz Martin, Business Owner commented “Emotional wellbeing is important in the early years, it impacts development and links to outcomes in later life. It’s therefore important that, in order to help our children continue to learn and develop, we adapt the way we do things in order to continue providing children with an educational learning environment where they feel safe and secure”.
In addition to the look and feel of the space Government guidance, Actions for early years and childcare providers during the coronavirus outbreak, states that settings should consider the mental health, pastoral or wider wellbeing support that children may need, including how to support them with their transition into the setting after a period of absence.
Eliz Martin continued “We continue to conduct performance assessments, review the progress of our children and assess the effectiveness of assigned key workers, to ensure that all children are provided with the best possible learning experiences and support, for their individual needs”.
Following the reopening of the setting, Parents have been invited to meet with their children’s new key workers and visit the setting to ask any questions they may have and view the new set-up for themselves.
If you are a parent/carer with a child attending our nursery setting and you would like to either arrange a visit to the setting or a zoom meeting with your child’s new Key Person, please do get in touch by calling 01603 865477.
