The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework outlines the standards that early years providers, such as Childerwood Nursery, must meet to ensure children’s learning, development, health, and safety.
Starting in September 2025, the plan is to introduce a new requirement within the EYFS safeguarding and welfare guidelines, which states that providers should consider the nutrition guidance. This means providers are expected to take this guidance into account and follow it, unless there is a valid reason not to.
This aim is for this guidance to help nurseries and other providers understand how to fulfil the existing EYFS requirement that requires all meals, snacks, and drinks provided to children in our care to be healthy, balanced, and nutritious.
